Australia has a second place as the most transparent property market in the world according to the latest Global Real Estate Transparency Index by Jones Lang LaSalle and LaSalle Investment Management.

 

The index provides a framework for property professionals to assess property transparency across 82 markets worldwide. It examines government and legal issues, cross-border capital flows and the movement of corporate businesses among its indicators.

 

The index revealed transparency levels across the globe were generally improving with only Venezuela posting a lower score this year compared with 2006. This year’s findings also saw the US drop from second to third and New Zealand slip from third to fourth. The UK remained the fifth most transparent country in the world.
